Maxine Vigil Russell is Director of Nursing for ProActiveCM. She started this business after more than 20 years in the health care field. From 1986 to 1998, Maxine operated the largest independently owned First Aid and Safety Company in the DFW area. Her company focused on OSHA training and occupational safety. After her business was purchased by Cintas Corporation in 1998, she continued with the company as Regional Business Director and General Manager for four years. She was instrumental in locating and evaluating other first aid businesses for Cintas to purchase. Maxine changed careers in 2001 becoming a Nurse Case Manager with Concentra and The Reny Company. She worked with a wide range of clients whose employers' included both Non-subscribers as well as subscribers to Worker's Compensation. Her proactive medical management style proved valuable in helping employees successfully return to work. Her nursing experience includes 10 years of hospital nursing as well as schools of vocational nursing and the UT Nursing School in Houston. From 1975 to 1985 Maxine lived in Nigeria, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya and London. She possesses a BSN from the University of New Mexico, a compact Texas Registered Nurse license, and a CCM certification. Deborah Goza, MS, RN, CCM, COHNS joined ProActiveCM in January 2008 as a medical case manager. Deborah brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is a Registered Nurse with certifications in both case management and occupational health nursing. Her knowledge and practice have been focused on workers compensation and disability case management, occupational health, loss prevention, and occupational legal and regulatory compliance. Her diverse career background as an employer, a manager of vendors, and as a representative of an insurance carrier gives her a wealth of knowledge and experience which makes her an integral part of our team. She has demonstrated successful management of workers compensation cases and cost savings associated with worker injuries. Deborah has consulted on legal and regulatory medical compliance issues to reduce the number of Workers Compensation, Disability, ADA and FMLA lawsuits in addition to federally mandated programs including OSHA and DOT. She has worked with large national accounts and small business to control workplace injuries and reduce losses. Her review and ability to identify loss sources and make recommendations to control or remove exposures result in a reduction in dollars spent on injuries and maintained a safe work place. Deborah earned her RN Diploma from Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She also has her BSN from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, Albuquerque, NM and her MS in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University, Orange Beach, AL. |
Mary Alda joined ProActiveCM as Director of Client Services in 2007. Mary has 15+ years of claims experience in the handling of workers' compensation, nonsubscriber, and auto/general liability insurance. Prior to her association with ProActiveCM, she was Claims Manager of the Texas office for Pinnacle Risk Management, a Third Party Administrator, for 8 years. Her earlier claims experience included adjusting positions with Acordia and Crum & Forster. Mary brings a vision of strong customer service to our firm, having had many years experience in working closely with the risk management team of a variety of entities including a major US airline, a large interstate trucking company, a major Texas municipality, as well as numerous other employers. She possesses a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Texas, as well as a Texas All-Lines Adjusters License. Betty Markee, BSN, RN, CCM joined ProActiveCM in January, 2009 as a medical case manager. From 1987 to 1994, Betty operated her own business which provided mobile mammography to businesses, church groups, and school districts. Betty’s company was the first mobile mammography company outside of California. After selling her business to a physician group, she changed careers becoming involved with Worker’s Compensation providers and insurers. She developed a large network of occupational clinics for an insurer throughout the Western US. Later Betty was a telephonic case manager for large corporations and small companies in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas while working for Travelers and Concentra. Due to her knowledge and very proactive medical management style, she was able to successfully facilitate effective resolution of injuries and early return to work. Betty is a native Texan and has never lived outside of the state. She has lived in the Dallas-Ft Worth area for 42 years and will soon relocate to a new home in East Texas. She possesses a BS in Nursing from UTA, having graduated with honors at the top of her class, and has her CCM certification. Marla Ferguson joined the ProActiveCM team in 2007. Her professional experience encompasses a variety of skills from marketing to IT, making her a valuable asset to our team. Marla provides internal support to our case managers and administrative staff. Her unique prospective allows us to forge ahead on the technical side while maintaining the personal element that our clients appreciate. Marla earned her B.B.A. from the University of Texas in Arlington. |
